Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo - Cartoon Timelapse
I have been remastering my old time-lapse videos for 4K recently and I had an idea to play a little bit with this one. The result is the cartoon or anime, if you will, kind of look. Please view it in 4K if your device supports this resolution.
Shibuya is one of the special wards of Tokyo and its central point is this diagonal street crossing, located next to Shibuya Station. Calling something so mundane as a street crossing a tourist attraction may seem weird, but I’d say this particular crossing deserves it.
It is really spectacular and fascinating. It’s probably the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world. It is estimated that more than 1,000 people cross it at once during rush hours. What an incredible spot to observe people.
The original time-lapse video that served as the basis for this cartoon can be licensed for editorial use from Pond5. It is available in 4k (UHD) and Full HD resolutions. The codec is DNxHR for the 4K file and h.264 for the HD version.
